Local fencing tournaments have been held in Salem since 2000. These local tournaments generally consisted of 8-12 fencers.

In January of 2004, Salem had its first invitational fencing tournament and invited fencers from all over the state. We had 28 fencers from seven clubs! Many thanks to West Salem High School Fencing Club for hosting the tournament!
